John William Scank, Sr., 75, of Darlington, passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2025.

Mr. Scank was born in Rahway, NJ a son of the late Ethel Evans Scank and William Scank.  John was a proud U.S. Marine and had been Armor Leader with the Boy Scouts of America Troop 402.  He loved his grandchildren, loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting, and riding his motorcycle.  He was a handyman, a Jack of all trades, master of none.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Christina Scank; brother, William Scank, Jr. and sister, Lauralei Alt.

Surviving are his wife, Louise Pinho Scank; children, Lisa (Joe) Safker, John William (Danielle) Scank, Jr., and Rachel (Joe Austin) Scank; grandchildren, Timothy, Camren, Joseph, Skylar, Ethel, Noah, Kaleb, Austin, Riley, Jaycie, Sydney, and Jeffrey; great-grandchild, Tristan; and a number of nieces and nephews.

At this time, no services will be held.  The family is asking for privacy during this difficult time.  In true John fashion, his cremains will be laid to rest at Parris Island.
