Florence, SC John Thomas Kelly, Sr., 81, of Florence, SC, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 6, 2013, at McLeod Regional Medical Center after a long illness. John was born in Chicago, Illinois, a son of the late William and Marie Kelly. John graduated from Aurora University in Chicago with a Bachelor's Degree. He worked in sales and engineering in the fencing business. John was a member of Eastside Christian Church where he served as a Deacon, a Sunday school teacher and was a member of the choir. He was a member of the St. David's Masonic Lodge No. 72 and a member of the Omar Shriners. John is survived by his wife, Shelby Poston Timmons Kelly of the home; two sons, Thomas Kelly and John Thomas Kelly, Jr.; a daughter, Mary Kelly; two grandsons, Jason Kelly and Trevor Coffman; and a granddaughter, Sarah Coffman, all of Illinois; a brother, William (Sue) Kelly of Illinois; step-daughter, Lyn Lawrence of Connecticut; two step-grandchildren, Krista and Kade Lawrence and two step-great grandchildren and Linda Ledford and her children, Victoria and John Ledford of Marietta, South Carolina, whom he loved and cherished. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2013, at 4:00 pm at Cain Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 until 4:00 pm, prior to the service. Entombment will follow the service at Florence Memorial Gardens.
