John Henry James, 65, of Florence, SC, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2014, at McLeod Hospital after an illness. John Henry is the son of the late George W. and Lucille James, both of Florence, SC. John attended Willow Creek Elementary and Wilson High School. John Henry was a strong hardworking man who loved working on cars. He was a giving and genuine man who always had words of wisdom. John Henry met and married his wife of 45 years, Patricia Miller James and resided in Brooklyn, New York, for 25 years. John and Patricia had four children while living in New York. He was affectionately known to everyone as "John Henry". He worked in construction as a brick mason where anyone who visits New York City can see his craftsmanship. He retired in August 1991 and moved back to his hometown of Florence, SC. John Henry is survived by his wife, Patricia Miller James; children, Charresse Kelly, John Glen James, Jr., Lashon Stacy, and Robert Anthony; his brothers, George W. (Dorothy) James and Frank (Vanessa) James; his sisters, Betty (Roosevelt) Isaiah, Katherine (Arthur) Coe; his grandchildren, Brianna & Bria, Isaiah, Jalen and Ka'leil; and a host of nieces and nephews who he loved and was loved by dearly by them.
