John H. Gainey, Jr., 68, of Florence, SC, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on March 10, 2023, after a long illness.  He was born in Fort Bragg, NC, on August 2, 1954.  John was a graduate of Wilson High School.  After graduation, he worked with his father in their family business and later became a minister of the Gospel of Christ.  John later started his own lawn care business, Little John's Lawn Care.  He loved God, people, the church and his family very much.  He was a gentle, kin-hearted soul who always looked for the best in people.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.  Rest in peace my love!

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 in the chapel of Cain Calcutt Funeral Home.  The family will speak to those in attendance following the service.
