John Charlton Cain, 54, of Pamplico, SC, died on Friday, July 3, 2015, at Carolinas Hospital System after a determined and courageous battle with heart disease. John was born in Florence, SC, a son of the late Coleman Wesley Cain, Sr. and Elizabeth Eskridge Cain. Charlton is predeceased by his parents and a brother, Coleman Wesley Cain, Jr. Charlton graduated from Clemson University where he played the sax in the pep band. He was employed as the Public Information Officer for Marion Hospital, as well as schools in Mullins, Darlington and Richland 1. He was a member at Pisgah United Methodist Church. Charlton loved Clemson football and photography. He is survived by his son, Grayson Coleman Cain of Florence; a sister, Maribeth (Daniel) Pardue of Florence; two nephews, Wesley and Wade Cain of Pamplico; and the mother of his child, Robyn Cain of Florence; and a sister in law, Brenda Cain of Pamplico. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery in Pamplico, SC, directed by Cain-Calcutt-Stephens Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Florence Area Humane Society, 1434 McCurdy Road, Florence, SC, 29506 and the American Heart Association, 181 E. Evans Street, Suite 200, Florence, SC, 29506.
