Joan Harter Conyers, 77, of Columbia, SC, died Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Carolinas Hospital System. She was born in Fairfax, SC, the daughter of the late Bruce Harter and Audrey Bowers Harter. Ms. Conyers graduated from the University of South Carolina with a BA in music. She was a retired elementary school teacher and church organist. She was also a successful aesthetician and small business owner. She is survived by a son, Steve Conyers and his wife Kathleen of North Augusta, SC; one brother, Jimmy Harter of Columbia, SC; two grandchildren, Emily Conyers of Rock Hill, SC; Kathryn Conyers of Greenville, SC. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
