Jo Ann Abrell of Florence, South Carolina, passed away on August 14, 2015. She was born May 1, 1926, in Franklin, Indiana, the only child of Muriel Lash and Joseph Barnhizer. She was a graduate of Wiley High School in Terre Haute, Indiana and graduated from Indiana University in 1948. She taught English at both the junior high and high school levels in public schools in Indiana and Illinois. Jo Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald L. Abrell, Sr. She is survived by her children, Marcia Lee West Rohrer (and Al) of Houston, Texas, Laura Elizabeth West Newman (and Ted) of Hartsville, South Carolina, and Ronald Lane Abrell, Jr. of Oswego, Illinois. She will be missed by her 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. A private service will be held at a later date.
