A funeral service for Jeanne Hortsmann Shelton will be at 2:00 PM, Monday July 6, 2009, in Cain Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Rev. Ken Moore. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Midlands Chapter 3223, Sunset Blvd., Suite 100, W. Columbia, SC 29169. Mrs. Shelton, 77, died July 2, 2009, in a local nursing home. She was born, November 11, 1931 in Calumet, IA, to the late Clarence and Viola Reimers Horstmann. She was also predeceased by her husband, Benedict Shelton, and a son, Paul Shelton. Mrs. Shelton was a graduate of University of Iowa. She worked for H & R Block in Milwaukee, WI and Florence as a tax preparer for 38 years, retiring in 2007. Surviving are: daughter, Gail M. Shelton of Hartsville, SC; brother, Larry Hortsmann of Phoenix, AZ and sister, Patricia Norris of Phoenix, AZ.
