Jean Marie Zeimetz deKoster, 56, died at home on Monday, October 25, 2010, following a courageous battle with cancer. Jean was born April 28, 1954, in Bronx, NY to John and Dorothy Zeimetz. Jean grew up in New Rochelle where she met her neighbor and future husband at age 5. On July 28, 1973, she was united in marriage to Jeffrey T. deKoster in New Rochelle, NY. In 1978 they moved to Florence, SC and have made 816 Indian Dr. their home for the past 32 years. She worked in the Magnolia Mall management office. Jean was a member of Abundant Life Church and has been a devoted wife and mother. She will be greatly missed by friends and family. Jean is survived by her mother Dorothy Zeimetz of Florence, and eight sisters and brothers. David Zeimetz, Bernie Orgoch, John P. Zeimetz, and Chrissy Turner all of Florence, Cecilia Rowedder of Highland Park, NJ, Joseph Zeimetz of Long Island, NY, Mary Lou Rainone of New Rochelle, NY, and Patty Levy of Brookfield, CT. Her children are Jennifer Chera of Chapel Hill, NC, and James, Jessica, and Jasmine deKoster of Florence. Grandchildren are Ashwin and Medha Chera. A memorial service for Jean M. deKoster will be held at 2pm, Friday, October 29 at Abundant life Church, 3030 S. Irby Street, Florence, Sc 29505. The Rev. Carl Morris will officiate.
