Jean Wise Shane, 87, of Florence, SC, passed away on Monday, May 15, 2023.  She was born in Florence, the daughter of the late Oliver Wise and the late Inez Harrell Hanna.  She is also predeceased by her husband, Hayes Shane and a brother, Grady Wise.

Mrs. Shane graduated from Florence Darlington Technical College in 1979 and retired from McLeod as a Registered Nurse.  She was a member of Eastside Christian Church and served for many years in the choir as the choir director for Faith Southern Methodist church.  She was a seamstress, enjoyed cross-word puzzles and putting puzzles together.  She loved baking, cooking and feeding everyone.

She is survived by a son, Robert Shane of Lamar; daughters, Eleanor Jordan (Monk) of Olanta, Mary Shane Bryant of Kennesaw, GA, Becky Phillips of Goose Creek; grandchildren, Jonathan Moore (Jesse), Rachael Moore, Shannon McCormack (Danny), Robert Bryant, Erin Bryant, Caitlyn Harris, and Emily Kewalramani (Hitesh); great grandchildren, Audrey Harris, Hazel, Oakley and Beau Moore.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 27, 2023 in the mausoleum chapel at Mount Hope Cemetery.  Cain Calcutt Funeral Home is honored to serve the Shane family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Eastside Christian Church.
