Jean Margaret Cribbs, 82, a long-time resident of Florence County, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2016, following a long fight after a stroke. Born November 30, 1933 in London, England, she was the daughter of the late George F. and Florence M. Giles Wilson. Jean retired from the Department of Health and Environmental Control where she served the Pee Dee area for many years. She loved good food and shopping, but most of all spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Olin D. Cribbs; daughter, Linda C. Sigman (Steve); son, Andrew D. Cribbs; grandsons, Benjamin O. Cribbs (Amber) and Paul M. Braddy; granddaughter, Jessica J. Lee (Nicholas); and great-grandchildren, Alana, Samantha, Jonathan, Jaxson, Anna Reese, and Elijah, all of whom live in Florence County and brought great joy to her later years. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 7, 2016, at the Florence National Cemetery, directed by Cain Calcutt-Stephens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 on Monday at the funeral home prior to the services. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of the Pee Dee Area.
