James Lewis Stoots, 67, of Florence, SC, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2017. He was born in Welch, WV, the son of the late William Harless and Margaret Blakeley Stoots. He is predeceased by, in addition to his parents, a brother, Robert Blakeley. James proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was the owner/operator of Stoots, Inc. in Florence, a heavy equipment transport company. He enjoyed fishing, country music, NASCAR and his Baltimore Orioles. James loved his family, his children, his grandchildren and his friends and he will be missed by all. James is survived by his wife, Patricia Lewis Stoots; two sons, William Stoots and Robert Stoots, both of Baltimore, MD; two step-sons, Steve Bitanga of Newark DE and Brian Bullock of Las Vegas, NV; one sister, Ellie Mae Humphries of Boiling Springs, NC; niece, Tracey Parker of Boiling Springs, NC; and eleven grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, June 16, 2017 in the Chapel of Cain Calcutt-Stephens Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 1:00 PM Florence National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Friday, prior to the service.
