Rev. James Wesley Potter, 79, passed away Aug. 31, 2017. Mr. Potter was founding pastor of Christian Assembly Church and schools in Florence, SC. He also served pastorates in North Carolina and Baltimore, MD. Mr. Potter served as Bishop of the Mid-Atlantic Conference for thirteen years. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Peggy Flowers Potter, and devoted father of three children: Jay (Melissa); Jonathan (Lisa); and Janna (Greg Long), and eight grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you give to the World Missions Dept., S.C. Conference of the IPHC, c/o Christian Assembly Church. The family will greet friends from 1-3 p.m. Monday at Christian Assembly and celebration of life service at 3 p.m.
