James Michael King, 71, of Pamplico, SC passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2015. Mr. King was born in Charleston, SC, a son of the late James R. and Lennie Wiggins King. He was a veteran of the US Navy. Mr. King was a man who loved being outdoors, especially being on the Great Pee Dee River, Black Creek, and Coastal Areas. Surviving are two sons, Scott Michael King of Pamplico and James Corder (Pam T.) King of Charleston, SC; a granddaughter, Creighton Walker King of Charleston; a half-brother, David Nirenstein of Macon, GA; and his ex-wife, Sally C. King of Florence. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at the Florence National Cemetery with military honors directed by Cain-Calcutt Stephens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the services at the cemetery. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Florence Area Humane Society.
