"Jimmy" Lynch

Timmonsville, S.C. James M. "Jimmy" Lynch, 71, of Timmonsville, S.C., died Saturday, February 9, 2013 at McLeod Regional Medical Center. He was born September 30, 1941 in Florence, S.C., son of the late Edward James and Hennie Mae Parnell Lynch. Jimmy attended Francis Marion College and afterwards became a small business owner in Timmonsville, while being employed with RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company. He was very active in the Timmonsville Community and in Florence County. He served on the School Board of Florence District 4, served with the Pee Dee Tourism Commission for over 20 years, The Economic Development Partnership of Florence, and was an active member of the Elk Lodge. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served in Korea. Appointed by Governor Carroll Campbell in May 1990, Jimmy served as a Summary Court Judge in Florence County for 22 years, retiring in June of 2012. He was a member of The South Carolina Summary Court Judges Association, and was awarded "Timmonsville's Favorite Judge" by the Town of Timmonsville in 2006. Jimmy is survived by three daughters, Wendy Lynch of Timmonsville, Elizabeth "Beth" Lynch Langley of Timmonsville, Rebecca "Becky" Lynch White of Winston Salem, NC and one son James "Jim" Marion Lynch II of Timmonsville; two grandchildren, Donald Lee "Jordy" Jordan III and Tyler Davis White; a sister, Patricia "Tish" (Tom) Hurt of Cedar Park, Texas; a brother, Tee (Karen) Haeberle and a sister, Ann (Keith) Haeberle McGinnis of Ottawa, Illinois. Jimmy is also survived by the mother of his children, Betty David . Three nieces, Reagan Haeberle, Morgan McGinnis both of Ottawa, Illinois and Tracey (Jason) Frazier of Durham, NC; three great nephew's, Jack, Aiden and Chase. Two nephews, Ross Haeberle of Ottawa, Illinois and Steven (Nicole) Hurt; and a great niece, Jenavieve Hurt of Cedar Park, Texas. He was also survived by his very special friend, Elizabeth Quinn Schafer Grainger. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 13, 2013 from 6-8:00 P.M. at Cain Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at the Church At Sandhurst. Burial will follow in Florence National Cemetery with military honors, directed by Cain Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke, DUMC, P.O.
