On Wednesday, Aug 23, 2023, Jaimie Thomas Deas, 64, of Florence, SC, passed away. The Gates of Heaven welcomed their good and faithful servant into his mansion that had been prepared for him. Jaimie was born in Florence, the son of Catherine (Tinka) Liakos Deas and the late Aubrey Deas.

Jaimie is survived by his mother, sister April Deas Britt (Jimi), brother Joseph Deas (Pam), and by nieces, nephews, and their children.  In addition to his family by blood, Jaimie had a legion of friends who he cared about deeply.  No matter the time nor weather, if someone called needing help, he was willing to do whatever he could.

For most of his life Jaimie loved to fish, water ski, and work on anything with a motor.  He inherited his love of animals from his mother, Catherine, whom he faithfully cared for since his father's death.  Jaimie retired from the CSX railroad as an engineer.

A funeral service, directed by Cain Calcutt Funeral Home, will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, August 27, 2023 in the Cain Calcutt Funeral Home Chapel.  A viewing for his friends to pay their last respects will be held from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Sunday just prior to the service at the funeral home.   A private burial will be held in the Mount Hope Cemetery.
