Isaias Escobedo
Rangel
April 22, 1939 – December 7, 2022
Isaias Escobedo Rangel, 83, passed away gently on December 7th, 2022 at the McLeod Hospice House, Florence SC. He was born in San Agustín, Zacatecas, Mexico on April 22,1939 to Santiago Escobedo Montoya and Antonia Rangel. He was one of 11 children.
Preceded in death are his mother and father; his sister Maria del Refugio Escobedo Rangel (Eliodoro Escobedo); his brothers Santiago, Enoch, and Abraham Escobedo Rangel; and his son Abram Escobedo (Linda).
Surviving is his wife, Theo Paulette Tucker Escobedo; sisters, Melquiades Escobedo Gallardo, Ruth Escobedo Solis (Benito), Debora Escobedo Rincon, Brothers Candelario Escobedo Rangel (Maria Eva Castro de Escobedo), Josias Escobedo Rangel (Rosa), Son Cuauhtémoc Escobedo (Maria), Daughter Sarah Richey (Mike). Grandchildren, Francisco Escobedo, Caleb Escobedo, Diego Escobedo, Antonio Escobedo, Isabela Escobedo, Jonathan Richey (Jessa), Hannah Jeffries (Jared) and Tucker Richey, many cousins, nieces and nephews. He grew up in Mexico and got an education visa to study at Colegio Biblico in Eagle Pass, Texas, where he earned his Bachelor of Art's degree in Sacred Literature. He then continued his biblical studies at Ozark Bible College in Joplin Missouri. It was there he met his future bride Theo Paulette Tucker and they married in 1961. After leaving college he worked in several locations to include Joplin, and San Antonio, Texas. He and Theo moved their family of five to San Luís Potosí, Mexico where he was a Christian missionary. After several years in Mexico the family moved to Eagle Pass, Texas and he worked in many leadership positions for Walmart. He was very proud to have earned his United States citizenship and he retired from Walmart in 2001 after having been one the managers selected to help open the first Walmart Super Center in Mexico City, Mexico.
He loved working in the yard and planting trees. He constructed a small ranch to include several buildings and animal pens. He had an extremely high work ethic and was tenacious in accomplishing tasks. A quiet, reserved man, he enjoyed his time on his ranch to read, study and care for his beloved dogs and farm animals. He and Theo moved to Florence, SC in 2017 to be closer to his daughter Sarah.
The family plans to have a celebration of life service later this month and would like to thank the wonderful professionals at McLeod Hospice House for their kind and sympathetic care in these last days. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to McLeod Hospice House, 1203 E. Cheves Street, Florence, SC 29506.
