A funeral service for Howard Arthur Davies, husband of Arlene Rice Davies, will be at 2:00PM, Sunday, March 15, 2009, in Central United Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. Tom Pietila & Rev. Will Malambri. Interment in Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday March 14 from 5:00-7:00PM at Cain Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Florence Area Humane Society, 1007 Stockade Drive, Florence, SC 29506. Mr. Davies died Friday, March 13, 2009, in a local hospital. He was born October 27, 1931, in Cleveland, OH, to the late Howard Arthur and Rose Marie Onasch Davies. He was a graduate of Cleveland State and received his PhD in Chemical Engineering from University of Florida. He spent his entire career working for DuPont. Mr.Davies was a member of Central United Methodist Church. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and a mentor to his grandchildren. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are: daughter, Linda (Kirk) Segars of Florence, and son, Jeff Davies of Manhattan, NY; grandchildren Lindsay Arlene and Kirk Jeffrey Segars.
