Herschel Anthony "Tony" Hearn, 89, of Florence, SC, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at the McLeod Hospice House.  Tony was born in Hagan, GA, a son of the late Herschel Johnson and Elizabeth Fowler Hearn.  He was a veteran of the US Army, serving from 1958-1961.  Tony was the Owner/Manager of Sportlanes Bowling Inc. in Kinston, NC and the Owner/Partner of Harrell-Hearn Inc in Charlotte, NC.  He was a former member of St. Andrews UMC in Charlotte and a member of Highland Park UMC in Florence, SC.  Tony was a member of the DAV and enjoyed golf, tennis, bowling, swimming and crossword puzzles.  He loved to cheer on the Atlanta Braves and the Carolina Panthers.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Shirley Mills Hearn; a son, Wayne (Dana) Hearn of Cornelius, NC; a daughter, Michelle Poston of Hartsville, SC; a grandson, Casey Poston of Auburn, AL; two granddaughters, Taylor (Jake) Jordan of Auburn, AL and Morgan Hearn of Huntersville, AL; two sisters, Sarah Hearn von Foerster of Greensboro, NC and Nancy (Bill) Branch of Highlands Ranch, CO; a brother, Jim (Charron) Hearn of Kinston, NC; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1PM on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 in the chapel of Cain Calcutt Funeral Home with interment with military honors to follow in the Florence National Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12-1 PM just prior to the services at the funeral home.
