Hazel Saulisbury Kirby Titusville, Florida Hazel Saulisbury Kirby, 88, widow of the late Waldo James Kirby, died Monday, February 25, 2013. Mrs. Kirby was born May 6, 1924, to the late Curtis E. Saulisbury, Sr. and Mary Jane Sweatman Saulisbury. She was a graduate of Berkeley High School in Berkeley County, South Carolina, and Raban's Beauty College. During World War II, she worked at the Charleston Navy Yard, then at Belk's Beauty Salon in Charleston. After she and her family moved to Orangeburg, SC, she worked at Pearl's Beauty Salon for 43 years. She belonged to the National Hairdresser Association, State and local chapters, where she served as President and Vice President over the years. She is a member of Northside Baptist Church in Orangeburg. She is survived by three children: daughter, Belinda Kirby Helsel (Randy) of Titusville, FL, and sons, Diatman "Ike" Kirby and Warren Kirby Anderson of Jacksonville, FL; three granddaughters, Bobbie Joe Kirby, Suzanne Larson and Dawn Anderson; five grandsons, Guy Kirby, Scott and Jay Anderson, and James and Harley Helsel; great grandchildren, Jasmyn, Mikaila, Hayley, Hannah, Adrian, Sunnie, Chloe, Colin, Dakota and Noah, Sydney, Savannah, Brian, Simone and Isabella; two sisters, Juanita Calvert and Louise Varner; one brother, Curtis E. Saulisbury, Jr. (Carol); and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 1, 2013, at Cain Funeral Home in Florence, SC, beginning at 12:00 pm followed by a graveside service at 2:00 pm at Florence National Cemetery, Florence, SC.
