Florence, SC Harvey Donald "Don" Poston, SFC U.S. Army (Ret.) 58, of Florence, S.C., died Saturday, April 4, 2015 at his residence. He was born in Florence, S.C., son of Sherry Yamao Poston and the late Harvey McDonald Poston. Don loved his country and served in the U.S. Army until his retirement in 1998. He was a member of Dawsey United Methodist Church. Don really enjoyed the outdoors fishing and spending time with his family. He is predeceased by his father, Harvey McDonald Poston and a niece, Amanda Powell Watts. Don is survived by his mother, Sherry Yamao Poston of Florence, S.C.; his wife, Della Teresa Smith Poston of Florence, S.C.; one sister, Ann Dinsmore of Florence, S.C.; one niece, Ashley Cox and one great-nephew, Evan Cox. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of Cain-Calcutt-Stephens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12-1:00 P.M. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Florence National Cemetery with full military honors directed by Cain-Calcutt-Stephens Funeral Home.
