Harris F. Rogers, 79, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., formerly of Florence, passed away Friday, December 27, 2013 at his residence. He was born in Darlington, S.C., son of the late James Alton and Frances Harris Rogers. He is predeceased by a son, James A. "Jim" Rogers II who passed away in 2003. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Hyman Rogers of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; one daughter, Helen R. Dobbins of Raleigh, NC; one sister, June Danner of Florence, S.C.; two grandchildren, Maggie Dobbins of Raleigh, N.C.; one grandson, McLean Dobbins of Myrtle Beach, S.C. Harris began his computer programming career with DuPont in the 1960's as an IBM programmer. After resigning from DuPont, he began working as a manager of First Computer Center. Harris had a dream of intergrading computers into the Church organization and in 1978 founded the Church software company ACS, Technology Inc. After selling ACS, he and his wife moved to Myrtle Beach and began to enjoy retirement. The family will receive friends Monday, December 30, 2013 from 6-8:00 P.M. at Cain Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Paul United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Florence Memorial Gardens directed by Cain Funeral Home.
