Harris Wayne Putnam, 77, of Florence, SC, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, September 21, 2016, after an extended illness. He was the son of the late George Edward Putnam, Sr. and Inez Jones Putnam Smith. He was also predeceased by his son, Harris Wayne Putnam, Jr. and two brothers, James Edward Putnam and George Putnam, Jr. Wayne was a member of South Florence Baptist Church. He worked at Stackhouse Sheet Metal for 30 years and operated Putnam's Heating and Air for 18 years until his retirement. He loved going to Bazen's Restaurant and seeing and talking to family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jeanette (Jean) Bazen Putnam; his two daughters, Angela (Ricky) Putnam Green and Amy Putnam Anderson, both of Florence; his precious grandchildren, Taylor (Ken) Green Keels, Bryson Anderson, Cody Green and Mari Grace Anderson; the apple of his eye was his first great-grandchild, Kenleigh Keels; a sister, Joyce Putnam Dabney; and his furry companion, Dusty Putnam. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, September 23, 2016, at South Florence Baptist Church on Irby Street, with burial to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, directed by Cain Calcutt-Stephens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 22, from 6 to 8 PM at Cain Calcutt-Stephens Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of Tri-County, 611 S. Dargan Street, Florence, SC 29506.
