Hampton Allen Morris, 80, of Florence, SC, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at his residence.  Mr. Morris was born in Florence, SC, a son of the late Allison DeLeon and Mabel Frost Morris.  He is preceded in addition to his parents by a brother, Allison DeLeon Morris, Jr. and a sister, Elma Lee Freeman.  He graduated a year early from McClenaghan High School and went on to receive his associates in Electrical Engineering and graduated from "Morris College".  He served his country honorably in the SCARNG for six years having been activated during the Vietnam War.  Mr. Morris retired after 42 years from the USPS and also operated the following companies, 4M Medical Supply, LMN Enterprises and Morris TV and Satellite.  In his younger years, he coached his son's baseball teams at Tara Village/Delmae League, loved basketball, the SC Gamecocks and the Boston Red Sox.  He was a faithful member of the Gospel Temple Worship Center.

Surviving are his loving wife of almost 60 years, Patsy Poston Morris; son, Dave (Josie) Prosser, daughter, Janet (Greg) Morris Cooper and son, Chad Morris; grandchildren, Matthew (Alicia) Prosser, Katie (Dalton) Fenters, Tyler (Kasey) Cooper, Caleb (Jenna) Cooper and Emily Cooper; great grandchildren, Avery and Aaron Cooper; sister, Carolyn (Jim) Lynch, brother, Jerry Morris; sister, Melba Poston; canine companion, Lucy and a number of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at Gospel Temple Worship Center, directed by Cain Calcutt Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 PM at the church prior to the service.  A private Inurnment will be held at the Florence National Cemetery with Military Honors.
