Gregory Madison Best, 58, of Florence, passed away on May 24, 2023.  He was born in Florence, a son of Mary Elizabeth "Libby" Hawkins Best and the late Robert L. Best.  Greg did landscaping at the Swamp Fox and the Plantation Inn.  He was a caretaker for the greyhounds in Florida and was an avid animal lover.  Greg loved living life.

Greg is survived by his mother, Libby; two brothers, Steven Glenn Best (Mellissa) and Robbie Best; and a sister, Charlotte Aceball.

A church-led memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Tabernacle United Methodist Church.  The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the service.  Cain Calcutt Funeral Home is honored to assist the Best family.
