Obituary

Mary Grace Lane Andrews, known affectionately as "Nanny," gracefully concluded her earthly journey on June 24, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Born in Dillon, SC on April 28, 1933, she was a beacon of strength, kindness, and elegance.

Grace, preceded in death by her parents, James B. and Mamie J. Lane, and her husbands, Buck Venters, Waddell Byrd, and John W. (Bill) Andrews, embarked on her final voyage surrounded by the love she had cultivated throughout her rich and full life.

She is survived by her three adoring children, Joel Venters (Zip), Debby Daniels, and Robby Venters (Judy), who carry forward the values and love instilled by their remarkable mother.

Nanny's spirit lives on through her five grandchildren: Jennifer Heavner (Jeff), Joe Venters (Jennifer), Katy Cottingham (Julie), Megan Stewart (Andrew), and Grayson Venters (Lillian). Her zest for life and boundless affection continue to echo through the laughter and joy of her eight great-grandchildren: Buck Venters, Eliot Stewart, Shepherd Venters, twins Asher and Townes Stewart, Billie Grace Venters, Fields Grace Cottingham, and Lee Campbell (Camp) Venters.

Beyond the warmth of her family, Grace found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a love for horses, the thrill of sailing, flowers, and an appreciation for a good martini. These interests added vibrant hues to the canvas of her life, creating lasting memories for those fortunate enough to share in her experiences.

A private scattering of ashes ceremony will be held at a future date.

As we bid farewell to a woman of remarkable character and grace, let us remember her not with tears of sorrow, but with smiles that reflect the warmth and joy she brought into our lives. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her memory be a guiding light for all who were touched by her presence.

The family wants to express our deep appreciation to all the staff of The Manor Senior Living and McLeod Hospice House for their care and love shown for Grace.
