Gilberto Ramos-Roman, 82, of Florence, SC passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at McLeod Medical Center.  He was born in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico, on August 14, 1940.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Adrian Ramos and Aurora Roman and his brothers, Adrian, Arnold and Hannibal.  He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Brown-Ramos (Florence) and their daughters, Liah and Gabrielle Ramos (Florence), his former wife, Kim Mai Nguyen-Ramos, and their daughters Lisa, Alexandria, and Lillian Ramos (Kentucky), his sister, Migdalia Ramos (Kentucky) and brother, Edwin Ramos (New Jersey), 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

A Vietnam veteran, Gilbert served his country honorably as an Aircraft Propeller Mechanic in the US Air Force from 1960-1964.  He loved languages and excelled in learning them.  He was fluent in Spanish, English and Vietnamese, and could get by in Thai and several other Asian languages.  Gilbert was a jack of all trades.  He could fix practically anything and enjoyed using his skills to help others.  Gil was also an inventor; sometimes of things that left us all scratching our heads, but this never deterred him.  He loved listening to music, playing his guitar, and when inspired, writing poetry.  His favorite topics of conversation were natural cures, politics and God's Word.  He loved the Lord, and his greatest desire was to serve Him.  Gilbert touched our lives in so many different ways.  He is greatly loved and will truly be missed.

A graveside service, with military honors, directed by Cain Calcutt Funeral Home, will be held at 2pm, on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, in the Florence National Cemetery.  The family will speak to those in attendance following the service.
