A graveside service with full military honors for Gerard Charles McKervey, husband of Lois H. McKervey, will be at 2:00PM, Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at Florence National Cemetery with Father Art Dalupang officiating. Memorials may be made to McLeod Hospice, P. O. Box 100551, Florence, SC 29502-0552. (www.mcleodfoundation.org). Mr. McKervey, 66, died Sunday, July 6, 2008, at his residence. He was born July 21, 1941, in Queens, NY, to the late Edward L. and Alice Brothers McKervey. Mr. McKervey served in the Army, Navy and finally the Air National Guard, retiring from McEntire ANG Base, Columbia as a MSGT with 28 years of service. He then went to work for the Sumter Police Dept. as the Evidence Custodian. After moving to Florence, he volunteered at The Little Theater, who gave him the Presidential Award for Volunteer Work in 2006. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are: sons, Brian (Julie) McKervey of Muskegon, MI, and Keith McKervey of Florence; grandson, Michael McKervey: brothers, Joseph McKervey of Tullahoma, TN, and Richard O. McKervey of Tampa, FL; sisters, Dorothy Johnson of Tampa, FL, Kathleen Deckleman of Roscoe, NY, and Ronnie Graden of Brooklyn, NY;
