Geraldine “Gerry” Domec of Florence, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at the age of 88. Born August 5, 1938, she filled her life with family, friendship, generosity, and a gift for making others feel at home.

Gerry was known for her wonderful desserts, impeccable sense of style, and love of shag dancing. She could make a gathering feel special and an ordinary day a little more fun. She loved gardening, cooking, baking, sewing, traveling, decorating, golfing, and bowling. In high school, she was an All-State basketball player which was an early glimpse of the spirit and determination she carried throughout her life.

Above all, Gerry loved her family. She treasured their trips to the beach, days spent shopping together, and the simple pleasure of being in one another’s company. She gave her love freely and made sure the people around her felt welcome and cared for. You never had to wonder who Gerry loved—you knew.

Gerry is survived by her beloved husband, Henry Domec; her three daughters, Susan Kennedy (Barry), Allison Ciosek (Thomas), and Rhonda Himanek (Jeffery); her grandchildren, Andrew Kennedy, Angela Ciosek, Emily Gutierrez, Bailey Szippl, and Erica Beaudin; and her great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Ed Jenkins (Ann) and Alton Jenkins (Sherry), and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; William Jenkins and Myrtle Horne Jenkins; and siblings, Sam Jenkins, Elwood Jenkins, Chuck Jenkins, and Joyce Williams.

The family extends a special and heartfelt thank-you to Sandra Tatum for the love, care, and support she gave Gerry during her final days.

Gerry’s family will remember her generosity, her laughter, her style, and the many ways she made life sweeter. Her love will remain with everyone fortunate enough to have known her.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Calcutt-Dowling Funeral Home in Florence, South Carolina.
