Gerald Francis Wallace, 89, of Darlington, SC, passed away on Monday, June 20, 2022.  He was born in Darlington County, a son of the late Henry Hosey and Ruby Jordan Wallace.  He is also predeceased by a brother, Marion Wallace and two sons-in-law, Philip Little and James Sohnemann.

Mr. Wallace served his country in the US Army and he worked at A&P and Winn Dixie for 5 years each.  He then went to work for the paper mill and retired from there after working for 47 years.    He was a member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church and enjoyed working in his yard and garden. Mr. Wallace was a cancer survivor and he enjoyed so many things in life, including reading his Bible, country music and eating seafood, and was a car enthusiast, including NASCAR racing.  He loved, and was loved by, his wife and he was a wonderful father and grandfather.

Surviving is his wife of 64 years, Lorraine Margaret Floyd Wallace; three children, Donna Wallace Luhrs (Robert), Dana Wallace Little, and Denise Wallace Stackley (Steven); three grandchildren, Blake James Sohnemann, Brooke Caroline Sohnemann and Taylor Nicole Stackley; one brother, Arthur "Art" Wallace (Marilyn); two nephews and one niece.

At Mr. Wallace's request, private services directed by Cain Calcutt Funeral Home were held at Florence Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
