A memorial service for George Lieutenant James, husband of Gloria Ann Harrison James, will be at 4:00 PM, Friday, May 30, 2008, in Cain Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Elder James Hawkins. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Boulevard, Suite 1010, Rockville, MD 20852-9813. Mr. James, 62, of Florence, died Tuesday, May 27, 2008, in a local nursing home. He was born October 11, 1945, in Florence. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosa Lee James Jordan; grandmother, Rosa Gregg Crossland; brother, Granison Jordan; uncles, George and Granison James and an aunt, Elizabeth Law. He was affiliated with the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are: sons, George L. James of Florence, and Reginald C. James of Norcross, GA; daughters, LaRosa J. Thomas of Mableton, GA, Yolanda L. James of Alpharetta, GA, LaJoy G. Bellamy of Timmonsville, Kimberly J. Norris of Union, NJ, and Tamalyn S. James of Sandy Springs, GA; sisters, Lucile Griffin, Alice Jordan, Reba McGruder; brothers, Soloman Jordan, Jr., and Legrande Jordan; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
