November 27, 1938 – January 4, 2024
George Charles Calcutt, 85 of Pamplico, SC, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at MUSC of Florence. Charles was born in Pamplico, SC a son the late Luther James and Thelma Collins Calcutt. He was a 1957 graduate of Pamplico High School and served his country in the US Army. Charles has worked for the last 60 years with Munn Hardware in Pamplico and was a faithful member of Mt Elon Free Will Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and was a member of the Buddy Calcutt Sunday School Class. He loved yard work, gardening, the Atlanta Braves and his family.
He is preceded in death in addition to his parents by a sister, Mary "Lib" Calcutt, two brothers, James L. "Buddy" Calcutt and W.S. "Billy" Calcutt, sisters-in-law, Peggy Calcutt and Nancy Morgan, two nieces, Mary Frances Calcutt and Ginger Calcutt Williamson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Renea Morgan Calcutt; three sons, Kevin (Brenda) Calcutt, Brett (Mary) Calcutt and Rev. Cleve (Vaughn) Calcutt; nine grandchildren, Morgan (Briana) Calcutt, Kim (Adam) Sellards-Hood, Heather Sellards, Jackson Calcutt, Charlie Calcutt, Elise Calcutt, Judson Calcutt, Judah Calcutt and Lincoln Calcutt; a great grandchild, Kaleigh Sellards; a sister, Faye C. (Wayne) Gibbs; five brothers, Willie Joe Calcutt, Bobby G. (Sue) Calcutt, Jakie O. (Carolyn) Calcutt, Luther Ray (Brenda) Calcutt, Rev. Randall "Randy" L. (Alice) Calcutt; two sisters-in law, Joan Calcutt and Elizabeth Calcutt; four brothers-in-law, Gordan (Dot) Morgan, Steve (Dixie) Morgan, Arris Morgan and Chauncy (Brenda) Morgan; special cousin, Dollee Turner and her family; special longtime coworkers, Charles Munn and Ossie Coleman; numerous nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces, great great-nephews and nieces, cousins.
A Memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, January 8th, 2024 in the chapel of Cain Calcutt Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from2-3:00 PM just prior to the service at the funeral home.
