IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Frederick Sarles
Ericksen
October 13, 1921 – July 25, 2009
A memorial service for Mr. Frederick "Duke" Sarles Ericksen, will be at 11 AM Tuesday, July 28, 2009 in Cain Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will follow the service. Mr. Ericksen, 87, was reunited with his parents Charles Ambrose Frederick and Ethel Sarles Ericksen; daughter, Jan Lewis; and brothers, Charlie and Bob Ericksen, on July 25, 2009. Duke grew up on the Jersey Shores, served in in Hawaii during WWII, then moved to Michigan where he met his wife and raised his family. He worked 30 years for Buick Motor Division. He retired to Florida then moved to Florence, SC. Duke loved nature and being outdoors. He loved birds and gardening, and loved to hunt and fish. He was also loved to play on his boat and snowmobile, and to be in his workshop. Most of all he loved his family, and to laugh, play, and reminisce. Duke blessed us with his love, laughter, and his life for 87 happy years. Think of him today and always, remember the fun, and to laugh. Those remembering and loving him are: wife, Reda Wells Ericksen of 53 years; daughter, Suzi Malashanko; grandchildren, David (Bonnie) Lewis, and Erin Lewis; sons by marriage, Phil (Olivia) Lewis, and John Stumpo; sister, Mildred "Gypy" Norford; sister-in-law, Kathy Ericksen; nephews, Bob (Robin & Family) Ericksen, and Tim Ericksen; as well as several dear friends. The family would like express a special thank you to the wonderful people at McLeod Hospice, and Comfort Keepers. An online guest register is on the obituaries page at www.cainfuneralhome.com.
