A funeral service for Flora Mae Powell, widow of James D. Powell will be 1:00PM Thursday March 18, 2010 in Curry Church of God, Jasper, AL conducted by Rev. Jerry Barton and Rev. Richard Wilt . Interment in Curry Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00PM Wednesday night at Collins-Burke Funeral Home, Jasper, AL. Mrs. Powell, 86, died March 14, 2010, in a local hospital. She was born, December 5, 1923 in Cullman County, AL to the late William and Sally Bailey Washington. She was also predeceased by daughter, Linda Patton and grandson, Bobby Michael Doss. Mrs. Powell was a Christian and became a member of Dovesville Church of God after moving to Darlington County. Surviving are: daughters, Sally (Howard) Strickland of Florence and Betty (Mike) Doss of Huntsville, AL; sons, William (Janet) Schultz of Florence and Eddie (Sherry) Schultz of Parrish, AL; 16 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
