Obituary

A funeral service for Eva Mae Richardson Tyner, widow of Fayette Merriell Tyner will be at 11:00AM Monday April 26, 2010 in College Park Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Darrell Davids. Interment in Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00PM Sunday April 25 at Cain Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to McLeod Hospice, PO Box 100551, Florence, SC 29502, Florence County Humane Society, 1007 Stockade Dr. Florence, SC 29506, or College Park Baptist Church, 1501 Third Loop Rd., Florence, SC 29505. Mrs. Tyner, 90, died Friday April 23, 2010, at Bethea Baptist Retirement Center. She was born, June 5, 1919 in Poston,, SC, to the late Durham Cushman and Mettie Creel Richardson. She was also predeceased by brothers, Joe, Lamar, Hurbert and Eugene Richardson and an infant sister. She moved to Florence in 1937 and entered Saunders Memorial School of Nursing, graduating in 1941. Following graduation she married Fayette Tyner. She worked in doctor's offices, did private duty nursing and was a Supervisor for Bruce Hospital for a number of years. Mrs. Tyner was a charter member College Park Baptist Church and the Ester Sunday School Class and past member of the Joy Club of the Church. She was also a member of Tea and Topic Literary Club and Plant and Pluck Garden Club. She was an avid fisherman, loved gardening, playing Bingo, and feeding and caring for stray animals that came her way. She loved spending time and doing things with family especially her great grandson, Kamden. She was a very loving, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She lived life to the fullest and had a witty personality that everyone loved. She will be remembered for her strong faith, will and thoughtfulness to others. Surviving are: daughter, Lynn (Lawrence) Bryant; granddaughters, Jennifer (John) Andrews and Kathy (Ty) Campbell; great-grandson, John Kamden Andrews all of Florence; a very special niece, Faye Simpson of Smyrna, TN; and many more nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express a very loving thank you to friend Meagan Jones Floyd, RN and all the nurses, CNA's and entire staff for their loving care they provided. Also a special thank you to the ladies of Ester SS Class, friend Carolyn Jones and Caroline Small, RN with Hospice.
