Gone Fishin'? Eugene T. Kennedy, Jr. The resident fish in the pond at CCSC are resting easy since Tim ("Pops") Kennedy officially "checked out" at sunrise on Sunday morning, August 28, 2011. He was surrounded by friends and family who recounted many stories first told by this true Master Storyteller. He is survived by his 'bride' (as he always referred to her) of 55 years, Meg ("Grr"), six children, 19 grandchildren and four siblings. He was born in Pompton Lakes NJ to the late Eugene T. Kennedy, M.D. and Helen (Smith) Kennedy on September 4, 1934. He was a Senior Chemical Operator at Roche Carolina where he retired in 2004. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Darlington and a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. A funeral mass will be held in his honor at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 30th at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Florence and all are welcome to attend. The family is forever grateful to his many friends from near and far for being part of his life and for their continued love and support. Sending him off with an Irish Blessing are his sisters Marigene Kennedy, OSF, and Rhe; and brothers Pat (Polly) and Terry (Beth). A day didn't pass that Pops didn't share a tale about one of his grandchildren: Mark, Caitlin, Desiree, Timmy (Amanda), Michael, Kelly, Ryan, Carleigh, Danny, Kyle, Connor, Joe, Carrie Ann, Melissa, Sean, Jack, Colin and Kelsey. He has fought the good fight and has finished the course?and will rest in peace on twelve.
