Mrs. Emma J. Beard, 67, of Florence, died Monday, August 22, 2011 in Florence, SC. She was born September 25, 1943 in Conway, NC to Fred and Pearl Burns. Emma was preceded in death by her parents and a grandchild, Ashley Hans. Survivors include: husband - Bill Beard of Florence; sons - Jeff Rowland of Florence, and Billy Beard of Raleigh, NC; daughter - Terersa Rowland of San Antonio, TX; brothers - James Burns of Roanoke Rapids, NC, and Fred Burns of Conway, NC; sister - Ann Balmer of Roanoke Rapids, NC; grandchildren - Jennifer Warren, April Downing, Kayla Beard, and Justin Beard; great-grandchildren - Caroline Grace Warren, and Jackson Reed Warren. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, August 26, 2011, at Cain Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.
