Emerson "Duke" Knowles Foyle, 87, of Little River, died on Monday, October 16, 2017 at the McLeod Hospice House in Florence, SC.
Mr. Foyle was born in Miami, FL, a son of the late Charles Fred and Hilda Knowles Foyle. He served his country as a Sergeant in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War. Duke was a member of the First Baptist Church of North Myrtle Beach, where he served faithfully as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing. He is preceded in death in addition to his parents by a brother, Charles Foyle and two sisters, Sophie Foyle and Betty Bell. Surviving are his loving wife of 64 years, Janis Gore Foyle; a son, Chet F. (Andrea) Foyle; two grandsons, Charles F. Foyle and Luke A. Foyle; and a sister, JoAnn Brooks. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at First Baptist Church of North Myrtle Beach. The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM prior to the services at the church. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of North Myrtle Beach or to McLeod Hospice.
