Florence, SC Elva Loretta Fretz Stay, 95, of Florence, SC, died on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at McLeod Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. Elva was born in Collingswood, NJ, a daughter of the late George Lee and Loretta Redmond Fretz. She and her husband lived in Florence for the past 33 years. She is predeceased by, in addition to her parents, her husband of 54 years, Norman John Stay, and a great granddaughter, Cassady Rose Jones-French. Elva is survived by daughters, Judy (Donald) Jones of Florence and Elva (Walter) Pomroy of Bangor, PA; Six grandchildren, Jacqueline (Mike) Feimster of Florence, Norman (Felecia) Jones of Florence, Kelley (Greg) French of Surfside Beach, Deborah Moyer, Brenda Guydish, Gwen (Chris) Corrado, all of Pennsylvania; Nine great grandchildren, Three step-grandchildren, and One great-great grandchild. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 16, 2014, at Cain Funeral Home from 1:00 until 2:00 PM, with a funeral service following at 2:00 PM in the Cain Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens, directed by Cain Funeral Home.
