Florence, SC Elnora Giles of Florence, SC, died on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at McLeod Hospice House in Florence, SC. Ms. Giles was born December 28, 1937, in Chatham, VA, a daughter of the late Elwyn Douglas Giles and Annie Leafy Motley Giles. Elnora was educated and graduated from the secondary schools of Pittysylvania County and a college in Danville, VA. She became an executive secretary in New York City for over 25 years. After the death of her parents, she relocated to Florence, SC, to be with her sister, Callie Giles Gallier, and nephew, Kenneth Lee Gallier, Jr of Winston Salem, NC. When her health began to deteriorate, Elnora became a resident of the Heritage Home of Florence. A remembrance, by many, will be the spontaneous rendering of "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" or "Jesus Loves Me". The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the wonderful love and compassionate care given to Elnora by Dr. Steven Ross and the staff of the Heritage Home. Graveside services will be held at her home church, Concord United Methodist Church in Chatham, VA. Local arrangements are by Cain Funeral Home and in Chatham VA, arrangements are by Scott Funeral Home.
