Elizabeth Katherine “Lisa” Allen, 75, of Florence, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, with her loving husband, John “Hollis” Allen III, by her side.

Born in Charleston, South Carolina, Lisa was the daughter of Hubert Haselden and Elizabeth Fleming Haselden. She graduated from Francis Marion College in 1972 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature. Lisa worked as an adjuster for State Farm for 25 years, retiring in 2005 to enjoy what she affectionately called life as a “lady of leisure.”

Lisa was a devoted mother to her son, John, and was especially involved during his cross-country years. She found joy in visits to the beach, camping trips, Mexican food, and the companionship of the many cats she loved throughout her life. An enthusiastic reader, Lisa built an impressive personal library and later embraced e-books as she entered the digital age. She loved fantasy, all things British, and especially *Harry Potter*. In later years, Facebook and *Words With Friends* became two of her favorite pastimes.

Known for her unforgettable laugh and wonderfully offbeat wit, Lisa delighted in jokes—particularly puns and playful turns of phrase. Her humor could brighten any room and bring a smile to everyone around her. She loved sitting on the porch listening to favorite music by the Beatles and the Beach Boys, or enjoying *A Prairie Home Companion*. Whether alone in peaceful contentment or surrounded by a room full of friends, Lisa had a warm and joyful presence.

In addition to her husband of 41 years, Hollis, Lisa is survived by her son, John Hollis Allen IV (Isabella) of Xenia, Ohio; her grandchildren, the handsome young man John Hollis Allen V and the beautiful princess Liana Grace Allen; and her brother, Hubert Haselden (Kathleen). She deeply loved being a grandmother and treasured the time she spent playing with Hollis and Liana.

Lisa will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
