Florence, SC Elizabeth Ann "Beth" McConnell Sallack, age 90, beloved wife of Myles Sallack for more than 60 years, died peacefully at her home in Florence, SC, on July 24, 2014. Born on June 27, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Ruth Johnson McConnell. She and Myles moved to South Carolina in 1994 after residing in Johnsonburg and Kane for more than 40 years. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Mary Ann Schumpert of Lugoff, SC and Leah Pileggi of Pittsburg, PA; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A 1942 graduate of Kane High School, Beth graduated from Mt. Aloysius College and Montefiore Hospital's Med Tech Program. She worked as a lab technician at Tokyo Army Hospital during the Korean War. Beth was a talented homemaker who enjoyed the arts, gardening and travel with her family. She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Florence. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 PM on Saturday, August 9, 2014, in the chapel of Cain Funeral Home with Rev. Jeffrey W. Shealy officiating. The family will be receiving friends immediately following the services. Interment will be at a later date in the family plot at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Kane, PA.
