Douglas Gene McElveen, 53, of Florence, SC, passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2018, at Carolinas Hospital.  He was born in Homestead, FL, a son of Ronald Gene McElveen and the late Rita Jane Mosley McElveen.

Douglas served in the Army Reserves being activated to serve in Panama.  He worked at Palmetto Packaging for 28 years.  He loved motorcycles and was a member of the NRA.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Faye King McElveen; his father, Ronald Gene McElveen; one daughter, Jessica McElveen; a brother, Edward Carl McElveen (Dena) and their children, Logan (Martinez) Ramon and Payton McElveen; and a sister, Ronda Gene Owens (Wesley), and their children, Veronica Creel and Chelsea Owens; and his mother-in-law, Nancy Graham..

A memorial service will be held at 5:30 PM on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, in the chapel of Cain-Calcutt Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends immediately following the services at the funeral home.
