Douglas "Doug" N. Faulkenberry, 82, of Kershaw, SC, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2026. He was born in Lancaster County, SC, a son of the late Lula Mae Bowers Faulkenberry and Edward N. Faulkenberry. Doug graduated from Kershaw High School in 1962 and Columbia Commercial College in 1964. He served in the Army National Guard for six years. He worked at DuPont in Camden for over fifteen years before his work in water systems took him to Guangzhou, China and Johnston Island in the South Pacific. After returning to the states, he worked for Springs Industries in water treatment. He ended his career with Invista in Camden.

An avid reader, he loved swapping stories, going fishing, and tending to his garden. While he loved being outdoors and working with his hands, spending time with his family brought him the most joy.

Surviving are his daughter Lauren E. Faulkenberry and her partner Andrew Ritchie; two sisters, Nell F. Robinson and Vivian F. Chapman; four nieces, Jennifer J. Calcutt (Lee), Anna R. Rhyne (Glenn), Ellen Robinson and Emily Chapman (David Runey); two nephews, Will Robinson (Olivia) and Casey Chapman (Lauren Cook); and fourteen great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Thorn Hill Baptist Church in Kershaw, SC. The family will receive friends following the services.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of Adoration Home Health and Agape Care Hospice for their compassionate care given to Doug.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Foundation for Cancer Research, or another charitable organization of one’s choice.
