Dorothy Ann Varner Michaux, 78, of Florence, passed away on Friday, September 17, 2021.  She was born in Bennettsville, SC, a daughter of the late Ferrell Brown and Dorothy Bunch Varner.  She began her career as a Radiological Technician.  After taking time off to raise her two sons, she continued her career as a substitute teacher and later became a Teaching Assistant in the Special Education Program at Florence School District One.   She retired from the district in 2005.

She is preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by a son, William Robert Michaux.

Surviving are her loving husband of 55 years, Edward Bryan Michaux, Jr., a son, Edward Bryan (Suzanne) Michaux III of Florence, a grandson, Edward Bryan Michaux IV of Florence; a brother, Michael (Debra) Varner of San Francisco, CA; two sisters, Beth (Bob) Latimer of St. Helena Island, SC and Lucy Varner of Camden, SC; three nieces, Shannon LaPierre of Camden, SC, Susan Mearns of Camden, SC and Christina Varner of San Francisco, CA and two nephews, Bill Horton of Camden, SC and Jamie Langly of Gaston, SC.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at Cain Calcutt Funeral Home.
