Dorothy Olds, 96, of Florence, SC, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2016. Born in Richmond, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Leslie Hornaday and Mary Jones Fishel. She is predeceased by, in addition to her parents, her husband, Richard N. Olds. She was one of the founding members of Highland Park UMC in Florence. She was a professional seamstress and among her many talents, she loved to create and sew beautiful angel dolls. She was a member of the Lenore Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and served as the past Grand Ester for the state of SC. She is survived by her daughter, Joy (Jay) Robertson of Myrtle Beach; grandchildren, Candy Lynne (Ronnie) Willhite of Simpsonville and James "Jay" Clarke Robertson of Myrtle Beach; grandchild, Heather (Eric) Warren of Simpsonville; and a great-great grandchild, Harley Warren of Simpsonville. A family led memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 1, 2016, at Highland Park UMC. The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 AM, prior to the service Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Care of SC or to Highland Park UMC.
