COLUMBIA, SC Dorothy "Dot" Moorer, 92, of Columbia, SC passed away December 26, 2012. Mrs. Moorer was born in Orangeburg, SC on July 19, 1920. She graduated from Columbia High School in June of 1938 and also took a course in office management from Columbia Commercial College. She lived most of her life in Lake City, SC where she raised her family. In January of 1942, she married the love of her life, the late W.G. (Gilmore) Moorer of Florence, SC. They were the parents of one daughter, the late Rosemeri Moorer Truluck. She blessed the life of her parents, and gave them two beautiful grandchildren, Alana and Heywarde Truluck and a great-granddaughter, Ashlyn Rose Stogner. Mrs. Moorer was a passionate reader and filled her home with books of all genres including biographies of interesting people. She is survived by two grandchildren, Alana T. Stogner and Heywarde Truluck and great-granddaughter Ashlyn Rose Stogner. In recent years, she had moved to Columbia to be with her sister and family. Surviving is her only sister, Mrs. W.C. (Erma) Wilson and her husband Bill, two nieces Mrs. Lisa Wilson Lesnieski and Ms. Wendy Wilson, and two nephews Woody Wilson and Jason Wilson all of Columbia, SC. Others surviving are a number of great nieces, Kristen Smith Albert-thenet, Jessica Meng, Jodie Wilson, and Miranda Lesnieski of Columbia. The family of Dorothy Moorer would like to extend their deepest gratitude for the devoted loving care given by Robin Hall and Theresa Hancock. A funeral service will be held Saturday December 29, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Cain Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow the service at Mt. Hope Cemetery Mausoleum.
