Dorothy C. Carter Bazzell, of Florence, S.C., passed away Saturday, December 12, 2015 on her birthday at the beautiful age of 91.

She was born in Columbia, S.C., daughter of the late William Preston Carter and "Artie" Cornelia Bolten Gray.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at Eastside Christian Church located at 3541 East Palmetto Street in Florence, S.C.

She is survived by a daughter, Ms. Debbie Picinich of Florence, S.C.; four grandchildren, Carolyn Reetz of Summerville, S.C.; Steven Bazzell, Matthew Bazzell, and Melissa Bazzell Smith; six great-grandchildren, Ashley Reetz of Greenville, S.C.; Ethan, Sionna, Emma, Hunter, and Luke Bazzell, all of Michigan; special nephew William Leslie and nieces, Beth Stephens and Sherry Carter Newsome.

Mrs. Bazzell is predeceased by her parents, a son, Arthur "Butch" Bazzell, a daughter, Patricia Bazzell; two sisters, Mary "Betty" Carter Leslie and Mildred Bragg; four brothers, Charles G. Carter, J.D. Carter, Reuben Carter and William "Buddy" Morris Carter.
