Doris Elizabeth Baker Frick, 93, of Florence, SC, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 29, 2015, at Southland Health Care. She was born in Coward, SC, a daughter of the late Talmadge Spurgeon and Mary Annie Gause Baker. She is predeceased by her parents; a brother, Archie Zingle Baker, and a sister, Annie Athena Baker. Doris was a member of St. Paul Methodist Church in Florence and was a member of the McNair Sunday School class. She was a bookkeeper for the tobacco market in Lake City for 27 years and worked at Royal School for 7 years. She was a very loving mother and grandmother who loved her family. She is survived by her sons, John (Pat) Frick of Coward and Barry (Marie) Frick of Scranton; a brother, Talmadge Spurgeon (Sara) Baker and a sister, Carolyn Layenette Daniel; three grandchildren, Cannon Frick, Jacob Frick and Heather (Hughes) Page; and two great grandchildren, Barrett Frick and Oliver Page. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, July 1, 2015, in the chapel of Cain-Calcutt-Stephens Funeral Home in Florence. The family will receive friends following the service until 9:00 PM. The family would like to thank Southland Health Care for the constant and compassionate care Doris received over the past several years.
