Donald Ray Walker, 70, of Florence, SC, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2017, in Charleston, SC. He was born in Alexander, Louisiana, son of the late Thomas Edward and Essie Jane Smith Walker. Mr. Walker served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was retired from Florence Carpet and Tile and also worked in maintenance for Quality Housing. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Faye Knotts Walker; two sons, Billy Ray Walker and Richard Walker; three step-daughters, Carol Michelle Garner, Chevelle (Michael) Atkinson and Cynthia Knotts; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and two sisters, Glenda (Tony) Vorey and Anita Daniels. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 11, 2017, at Truth Chapel. A private Inurnment service will be held at a later date in the Florence National Cemetery Columbarium. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Truth Chapel, 1400 W. Evans St., Florence, SC 29501.
